Water cycle/Nitrogen cycle

This week we had a test on the water cycle and nitrogen cycle. I think I did pretty well. In the previous weeks we talked about how the water cycle worked and played games based on it. In one game we were water molecules and we rolled big dice to determine were we would go to next.

Shane also showed us a representation to help us further understand. It was one of those baby games were you have to fit the right shape into the right hole. It made sense because animals can only utilize nitrates through consuming plants. It was a lot more complicated than the water cycle because only legumes can turn the free nitrogen into nitrogen fixing bacteria and even though 78 percent of our air is nitrates we cant consume them!! Very frustrating. One day I was eating a kind bar and it said that it had no added nitrates in it which made it even more confusing because we need nitrates, I still don’t under stand why my granola bar said that. Image result for kind bar no added nitrates
